NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
SELECTION PROCESS
2021 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS
Pursuant to Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC) 19.80.80, the Federal Way City Council will conduct a
public meeting on Tuesday, June l5, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., to determine whether the following amendment
requests should be considered further as part of the 2021 Federal Way Comprehensive Plan Update.
1. File #20-103733-UP, Bally’s Fitness Center – Request for a comprehensive plan
amendment and rezone of parcel number 172104-9038 (six-acre site) located at the
southeast corner of 1st Avenue South and South 328th Street, from Office Park (OP) to
Multi-Family Residential (RM1800, one unit per 1,800 square feet).
2. File #20-103849-UP, Steel Lake Viewpoint – Request for a comprehensive plan
amendment and rezone of parcel numbers 092104-9199 and 092104-9012 (5.88-acre
site), located at 1931 South 304th Street, from Single Family High Density Residential
(RS 7.2 one unit per 7.2 square feet and RS5.0 one unit per 5.0 square feet) to Multi-
Family Residential (RM1800, one unit per 1,800 square feet).
Prior to the June 15th City Council public meeting, the city’s Land Use/Transportation Committee
(LUTC) will consider these requests during a public meeting on June 7, 2021. The meeting will start at
5:00 p.m. The LUTC will make a recommendation to the City Council on which of the requests should be
selected for further consideration. The LUTC and the City Council meetings are public meetings and
there will be opportunity for public comment at these meetings. Any interested party may also submit
written comments prior to the meetings; or, present them to the LUTC and City Council during the

Amendment requests selected to move forward will be presented to the Planning Commission for further
consideration. A public hearing before the Planning Commission will be scheduled at a later date, at
which time, public testimony and written comments can be provided by the public regarding each site-
specific request.
Pursuant to Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28, all in-person meetings are prohibited until further
notice; therefore, the public meetings will be held on Zoom. Information on how to access the Zoom
and phone options will be on the LUTC and City Council Agenda, which will be on the city’s website a
week before the meetings (https://www.cityoffederalway.com/page/agendas-and-minutes).

will be available to the public one week prior to the meetings on the city’s Public Meetings page noted
