Saturday, September 19, 2015 *�'�` 10:00 am-2:00 pm at local grocery stores Donations benefit the Federal Way Multi -Service Center Food Bank The Facts: • 1 in 5 households in WA State don't have enough money to properly feed their families • 58.8% of Federal Way students, in 2014, were eligible for free or reduced price meals • 1 in b people rely on SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps) • Since 2008, there has been a 52% increase in need for food bank use • 1/2 of all people on SNAP are school age children Hunger's Impact on Kids • Development: Food -insecure children are 90% more likely to have health problems, like colds, headaches, stomachaches & hospitalizations. Education: Hungry kids have a harder time concentrating & have more behavior issues at school.
