Council Retreat is to be scheduled for the
last week or weekend in January
To build in flexibility, will extend the date

Amend to reflect current practice
Delete the following from 2.2(4):
"provided the City Clerk has been notified in advance
(preferably by 3:00 p.m., but no later than before the
beginning of the meeting)."

o Recommended change is delete:

o Housekeeping
Removes the handling of the Mayor's mail
from Council Rules
Will delete "the Mayor and" from Rule 9.6

Prevents Councilmembers from meeting
with bargaining unit members during
active negotiations
Currently in negotiations with all four labor
groups, which is more than half of the
City's employees
Will repeal this rule
New Council Rule 11.4 (p.18)
Council Rules currently do not address
attendance from remote location
New rule would allow attendance from
remote location and provide for protocol
and procedures

records generated by the Mayor's Office

Additional Items
At the Oct. 20t" meeting, Council raised
issues with Council rules dealing with
alternates to committees, when agendas
are published and how, interviews of
alternates, selection of commission
members, and public records
These require additional research and will
be discussed at next Council Retreat
