Approval of Summary Minutes – July 27, 2021 Meeting Motion made by Councilmember Kochmar to approve the minutes as written from July 27, 2021. • Moved: Kochmar • Seconded: Craft • Passed: 3-0 Unanimously B. King County Youth and Amateur Sport Grant: Presented by Parks Deputy Director Jason Gerwen Deputy Director Gerwen requested we accept funding of $150,000 from King County Youth and Amateur Sports grant for the Saghalie Track Replacement, partnering with Federal Way Schools District to both assume the Project Management and remaining balance of the project. Motion made by Councilmember Kochmar to forward with acceptance of proposed agreement of $150,000 funding from King County Youth and Amateur Sports Grant to the October 5th, 2021 consent agenda for approval. • Moved: Kochmar • Seconded: Craft • Passed: 3-0 Unanimously C. Police Gate Replacement: Presented by Parks Deputy Director Jason Gerwen. Deputy Director Gerwen presented RFB (Request for Bid) update: no bids were received with first round, believe vendors had personal calendar conflicts and are able to bid if provided another 3 Tuesday, September 28, 2021 Page 2 opportunity. Will go out for bid again, a delay but will bring formal bids or awarded bids in the next few weeks. No action needed, updating the committee on bids process. D. Federal Way Community Center Slide Removal – Bid Acceptance: Presented by Parks Deputy Director Jason Gerwen. Deputy Director Gerwen presented bid from Talakai Construction LLC, seeking either authorization to acceptance bid, execute contract or provide direction to staff for next steps. Motion made by Councilmember Craft to forward the bid acceptance for Talakai Construction LLC in the amount of $31,600 plus tax for the Federal Way Community Center Slide Removal and authorization to staffing proposal as presented to the October 5th, 2021 business agenda for approval. • Moved: Craft • Seconded: Kochmar • Passed: 3-0 Unanimously E. King County Parks Levy Aquatic Facilities Grant: Presented by Parks Deputy Director Jason Gerwen and Community Center Manager Leif Ellsworth Deputy Director Gerwen requested approval for staff to apply for King County Parks Levy Aquatic Facilities Grant for the Federal Way Community Center or provide direction to staff. Manager Ellsworth helped answer questions, provided input on closed periods and confirmed the lap pool will continue to be operational during the construction. Steel Lake Shop Video Security Enhancements – Proposal Acceptance: Presented by Parks Deputy Director Jason Gerwen.
