Issue: The City issued a Notice of Violation —Order to Correct for the following violations
of the Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC):
FWRC 19.125.160 Structures and Improvements:
Specifically: Six storage sheds (Approximately 10 feet x 12 feet) have been placed within the five foot
required yard setback.
FWRC 19.270.030 Home Occupations
Specifically: The residence has been converted to a business office. Business is not being conducted
by a resident of the home. Outdoor storage of vehicles and materials associated with the business,
vehicle activity/daily traffic exceeds what is allowed for home occupations in a residential zone.
FWRC 19.270.050 Accessory Structures
Specifically: Business related storage located in six storage sheds and portions of the garage may
exceed the maximum of 1,000 square feet of use as allowed for home occupations in residential
zones.
FWRC 19.130.250 Parking and Storage of Commercial Vehicles in Residential Zones Limited
Specifically: Commercial Box Van parked and stored on property.
Basis for Appeal: Violations are inaccurate or not a fair representation of the business.
Process Required FWRC Chapter 1.15 Civil Enforcement of the Code, Section
.060 Appeal to Hearing Examiner.
Hearing Date: May 3, 2010 at 2:00 pm.

Participation: FWRC 1.15.060 requires all property owners within 300 feet of the
appellant's property be notified of this hearing.
Any person may participate in the public hearing in either or both of the
following ways:
1) By submitting written comments to the hearing examiner, either by
delivering these comments to the clerk prior to the hearing or by giving
these directly to the hearing examiner at the hearing.
2). By appearing in person, or through a representative, at the hearing
and making oral comments directly to the hearing examiner. The
hearing examiner may reasonably limit the extent of oral comments to
facilitate the orderly and timely conduct of the hearing
