Subject: Redondo Frontage Site C – Detention Modification Request
Dear EJ Walsh:
Per the City of Federal Way Public Works Development Standards (Chapter 4.1.1) detention
facilities for private commercial developments outside the City Center Core must be above
ground. We would like to make the following modification request:
Modification Request - Underground Detention/Water Quality vs Above Ground Pond:
We request the City of Federal Way allow the use of underground storm drainage detention and
water quality facilities vs an above ground pond system.
Justification:
The project density for buildings, roads, parking, landscaping, open space and other
infrastructure that are required that makes this project feasible does not allow the required
space for an above ground drainage facility.
