At the December 7, 202I Council Meeting, Council
requested that a new position of "Deputy Mayor" be
created in the Council Rules of Procedure.

Assist the Council President in the administration of
council business
Agenda setting
Committee appointments
Acting as ex officio member of committee to create a
quorum when required
Housekeeping
Proposed update to Council Rule z3.i
Require a simple majority vote instead of 2/3 majority
vote to suspend council rules not dictated by state law or
ordinance. This is consistent with the fact that the
greater power of changing or abolishing the rule
requires only a majority vote.
