Dear Christina Mason:
You have been found in violation of the 2006International Residential Code, Section R105.1 Permits
"Required," for a basement addition that was being constructed without permits.
This letter is being sent to advise you that an extension of time is being granted to obtain a permit to bring
the basement addition into compliance. You have responded to the warning letter that was sent and you
have advised me that plans are being prepared for the submittal for a building permit. The under floor
room addition project is being abandoned and the scope of work will be to bring the house back to the
pre -construction conditions. Since structural changes were made, a building permit will be needed to
ensure that the structural integrity of the building is restored and it meets minimum building code
standards.
You are granted a 3 (f day extension. Plans will need to be submitted by March 1, 2010.
Your failure to submit plans and obtain a building permit will result in citations being issued or
appropriate legal action being taken to gain compliance. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate
