INTERLOCAL COOPERATIVE BIDDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN PIERCE
COUNTY AND CITY OF FEDERAL WAY
Mr. McFall told the Council that it had been anticipated King
County would have done some asphalt overlay work in Federal Way;
this did not happen and the City was faced with no pavement
maintenance which was not acceptable. Public Works Director, Jim
Shanks, contacted Pierce County and they are willing to enter into
this agreement which would allow Federal Way overlay projects to be
done at the Pierce County bid cost. Mr. McFall said that the
Council will receive an outline of the program and the cost
analysis at the next Council meeting. He urged the City Council to
authorize that the City Manager enter into this interlocal
agreement.
Motion to authorize the City Manager to enter into the
interlocal agreement with Pierce County by Councilmember Templeton;
Second by Councilmember Stead. The Councilmembers were informed
that the Pierce County contractor was a local company, Woodworth
and Company. Mr. McFall assured the Council that the contractor
will perform the work at no additional cost over the previously
awarded bid amount. Councilmember Stead commended staff on this
proposal which he felt was an extremely good deal.
