The Federal Way city Council held a study session, in city Council
Chambers, Federal Way City Hall, 33530 First Way South, Federal
Way, Washington, on November 12, 1991, at the hour of 7:00 p.m.
Councilmembers present: Mayor Debbie Ertel, Deputy Mayor Mary
Gates, Jim Handmacher, Lynn Templeton, Joel Marks, Bob Stead and
Jim Webster. Staff present: J. Brent McFall, City Manager and
Maureen Swaney, City Clerk.
I.
PAY AND CLASSIFICATION STUDY
The referenced study was presented to the full council and will be
an action item on the November 19, 1991 City Council Meeting
agenda. As a part of the November 19 item, the Council will take
action on a cost-of-living pay adjustment for staff.
II.
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM
Consultants and staff reviewed this proposed system.
III. FINANCE DEPARTMENT BUDGET
The Finance Director presented the Finance Department preliminary
budget.
IV.
POLICE BUDGET
Major Bob Evans presented recommendations for Federal Way Police
service levels.
V.
MISCELLANEOUS
Next budget meeting for Parks Department continuation and Community
Development is November 14, 1991 at 7:00 p.m. There will be no
meeting on November 21, 1991 as previously scheduled. The budget
public hearing will be on November 26, 1991.
