City Council Meeting
study Session
August 27, 1991
Mayor Ertel called the study session to order at the hour of 7:00
p.m., in Council Chambers, City Hall, 33530 First Way south,
Federal Way, Washington, for the purpose of a status report on a
parks master plan and hearing a 6-month police report.
Councilmembers present: Deputy Mayor Mary Gates, Lynn Templeton,
Joel Marks, Bob Stead and Jim Webster. Councilmembers absent: Jim
Handmacher. Staff present: J. Brent McFall, city Manager; Carolyn
Lake, Assistant city Attorney; Maureen Swaney, City Clerk.
I.
ARAI-JACKSON MASTER PLAN FOR EVERGREEN AIRFIELD AND PANTHER
LAKE
Consultants reviewed the status of their master plan project
relating to the park properties. The audience was allowed to
participate in the discussion; results of previous public meetings
and surveys was provided to the Council. The Council and members
of the public felt that parking was a high priority for either
property.
II.
SIX-MONTH POLICE REPORT
Chief Evans reviewed information relating to calls for service,
crime volumes, crime rate comparisons, 1991 Dare classes, traffic
enforcement, budget comparisons, precinct/city workload comparison,
and precinct staffing.
