CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Robert Stead called the meeting to order at the hour of 7:05 p.m. Councilmembers
present: Deputy Mayor Joel Marks, Ray Tomlinson, Mary Gates, Ron Gintz and Lynn
Templeton. Council members absent: Skip Priest (excused absence). Staff present: 1. Brent
McFall, City Manager; Carolyn Lake, Acting City Attorney, and Maureen Swaney, City Clerk.
A delegation of visitors from Hotchonoi, Japan was introduced.
II.
SOLID W ASTEIRECYCLING PROGRAM & BUDGET
Jacquelyn Faludi, Solid Waste/Recycling Coordinator, reviewed this program and budget. The
Council asked that the matter be placed on an upcoming Committee agenda.

PROPOSED LEGISLATION REQUIRING
PBX PHONE SYSTEMS TO ACCESS E-911
Kenneth Nyberg, Assistant City Manager, introduced Joyce Harms, Federal Way Fire
Department, who reviewed the proposal. The ordinance will be on the August 4, 1992 agenda.
IV.
CALVERT STREET VACATION
Karen Lancaster, Engineering Technician explained this item and told the council the resolution
setting the public hearing will be on the August 4, 1992 agenda.
V.
FINANCIAL CENTER BUILDING ACQUISITION
Deborah Larson, Finance Director, reviewed the fmancial issues and said the council will have
the opportunity to act on this at their August 4, 1992 meeting.

VI.
TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN
Tim Miller, Traffic Engineer and Philip Keightley, Public Works Director, reviewed the plan.
The public will have the opportunity to comment at the August 4, 1992 meeting.
