MINUTES
I.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Gates opened the study session of the Federal Way City Council at 5:31 p.m., in Council
Chambers, City Hall, Federal Way, Washington.
City Council present: Mayor Mary Gates, Deputy Mayor Phil Watkins, Councilmembers Jack
Dovey, Hope Elder, Skip Priest. Excused absence: Councilmember Ray Tomlinson. City
Manager Nyberg announced Councilmember Ron Gintz will be approximately eight minutes late;
he arrived at 5:40 p.m..
City Staff present: City Manager Ken Nyberg, City Attorney Londi Lindell, Acting City Clerk
Chris Green.
II.
REGIONAL ISSUE/Regional Air Transportation Strategy for 1995
Mayor Gates invited citizen Peter Townsend, to update the Council on the latest activities of the
RCAA. He also distributed copies of RCAA's proposed guideline for future activities.
Senior Planner Greg Fewins presented a detailed report on the Regional Air Transportation
Strategy for 1995, and answered Councilmember's questions. Information included (1)
introduction and summary; (2) background; (3) regional air transportation issues and alternative
strategies, including four post plan and alternative strategies, major supplemental airport and
alternative strategies, expert panel, master plan update and alternative strategies, technical
alternatives, legal alternatives, airport communities coalition and alternative strategies; and (4)
exhibits.
III.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor Gates adjourned the study
session of the Federal Way City Council at the hour of 6:50 p.m..
