MINUTES
I.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Councilmember Ron Gintz opened the special/study session of the Federal Way City Council
at 5:05 p.m., in Council Chambers, City Hall, Federal Way, Washington.
City Council present:
Mayor Mary Gates, Councilmembers Jack Dovey, Hope Elder,
Ron Gintz, Skip Priest. Position No.3 vacant.
Excused Absence:
Deputy Mayor Phil Watkins
City Staff present:
City Manager Ken Nyberg, City Attorney Londi Lindell,
City Clerk Chris Green, Deputy City Clerk Bob Baker.
II.
CABLE FRANCHISE BRIEFING
City Attorney Londi Lindell answered questions of the Council and briefed them on the status
of the cable franchise negotiations. She reported on length of the franchise (IO-years), fees,
channel capacity, new technology, access channels such as Public Education Government
access channels, I-Nets and cable availability. Ms. Lindell recommended that a public
hearing be scheduled for the June 20, 1995, regular meeting; Councilmembers concurred.
