CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Mary Gates opened the special session of the Federal Way City Council at 4:40
pm., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Federal Way, Washington.
City Council present: Mayor Mary Gates, Deputy Mayor Phil Watkins, Councilmembers
Jack Dovey, Hope Elder, Ron Gintz, Skip Priest, and Mike Park.
City Staff present: City Manager Ken Nyberg, Deputy City Manager Phillip Keightley,
City Attorney Londi Lindell, Management Services Director Iwen Wang, Public Safety
Department Director Jim Murphy, P ARCS Director Jenny Schroder, Management
Assistant Dena Laurent, Public Works Director Cary Roe, Human Resources Manager
Mary McDougal, Management Services Deputy Director Marie Mosley, City Clerk Chris
Green, and Administrative Assistant Becky Metcalf

PROPOSED 1996 BUDGET
City Manager Ken Nyberg presented an overview of the budget, reviewing the Proposed
Budget in Brief document. The following issues/concerns/questions were raised:
Airport strategic reserve--Council has requested $100,000, not $50,000
Provide a listing of restricted/designated funds.
Nyberg reviewed the budget schedule.
III.
ADJOURNMENT
The agenda being completed, Mayor Gates adjourned the special session of the Federal
Way City Council at the hour of 6:25 pm.
