MINUTES
I.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
City Council Public Safety & Human Services Committee Chairman, Mike Park, opened the
Special Meeting of the Federal Way City Council at 4:05 p,m" in Council Chambers, City Hall,
Federal Way, Washington,
City Council present: Mayor Skip Priest, Deputy Mayor Hope Elder, Mary Gates, Phil Watkins,
Jack Dovey and Mike Park, Ron Gintz' absence was excused,
City Staff present: City Clerk Chris Green, City Manager Ken Nyberg and City Attorney Londi
Lindell were excused by the City Council,
Diversity Commission Chairman, Adrian Johnson, was also present.
II.
DIVERSITY COMMISSION INTERVIEWS
The following persons appeared and were interviewed: Chris Choi, Carolyn Hayek, Ronald Cole,
Juan Sanchez, William Bishop, Abiodun Aina, Ray Lottier, Naazneen Siddiqui, Adebola Adekoya,
Amye Bronson-Doherty, Ted Lamb and Rita Chappelle,
Jacqueline Washington did not show for her scheduled interview.
III.
DELIBERATIONS
All Councilmembers present deliberated and recommended the following persons be appointed at
tonight's regular meeting: R L. Lottier, Juan Sanchez and William Bishop through 5/31/99; Ted
Lamb for an unexpired term through 5/31/97; and alternates, Chris Choi and AbiodunAina for
terms through 5/31/99.
