MINUTES
I.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Councilmember Dovey opened the special meeting of the Federal Way City Council at 5:00 p.m.,
in Council Chambers, City Hall, Federal Way, Washington.
City Council present: Deputy Mayor Hope Elder; Councilmembers Mary Gates and Ron Gintz.
City staff present: Deputy City Clerk Bob Baker and Administrative Assistant Mary Jaenicke.
Returning Youth Commissioners present: Lee Murphy, Anika Andrews, Naila McKenzie and
Jenny Roloff.
Excused were City Manager Ken Nyberg and Assistant City Attorney Bonnie Lindstrom.
II.
YOUTH COMMISSION VACANCY INTERVIEWS
The interviews were conducted by two teams of individuals. In one room was (Panel A), Hope
Elder, Ron Gintz, Anika Andrews and Naila McKenzie. In the other room was (panel B), Jack
Dovey, Mary Gates, Lee Murphy and Jenny Roloff.
For a complete list of students interviewed, see attached items. Only one student, Jason Recek,
did not show for his interview.
III.
DELIBERATIONS
The entire group (both interview panels) met together in Council Chambers to deliberate and
select students to serve on the commission.
The Council chose Jennifer Acayan, Naazneen Siddiqui, Angela Ou and Bryon Mengle to serve
for a period of one year.
The Council chose Jared Malone, Kevin Jones, David Pearson, Ryan Mansfield and Sue Park to
serve for a period of two years.
Finally, the Council chose Jennifer Graves, Scott Crisostomo and Meghan McKeough as
alternates.

ADJOURNMENT
Having no other business to conduct, Councilmember Dovey adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
