RE: Woodbridge Building A; 3120 South 344th Street, Federal Way
Dear Mr. Spadoni:
ESM Consulting Engineers, LLC, is submitting the following responses to the traffic
comments received on the plans for Woodbridge Building A on May 5, 2022.
In an effort to provide concise and direct responses, we have copied the plan comments
below in italics and our responses are in bold.
1. Sheet ST-02 – Remove “BY TRAFFIC ENGINEER”
The text has been removed.
2. Sheet GR-05 – “Should this be located out of driveway?”
This existing catch basin is located in the Weyerhaeuser Way South roadway
flowline and represents a low point; therefore, it is not proposed to be relocated.
3. Sheet FR-01 – “This is within limit access, confirm pavement design approved by
WSDOT.”
Per attached email correspondence with Duffy McColloch, WSDOT has no
changes to the proposed pavement area to be replaced or to the proposed
pavement section. The Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) will be revised under the
WSDOT permit as necessary and coordinated with Rick Johnson for review and
approval prior to starting the work.
4. Sheet FR-02 – “Conflict with illumination plan showing relocation.”
Sheet FR-02 has been revised to match the illumination plan.

5. Sheet FR-02 – “To where? Specify and refer to illumination plan.”
The information has been revised as requested.
6. Sheet FR-02 – “This should be the same as channelization design by TENW.”
The channelization information has been updated to match the design by TENW.
7. Sheet FR-03 – “Island per Dwg. No. 3-58 and plans prepared by TENW.”
The island has been revised to reference the design by TENW.
8. Sheet FR-03 – “Conflict with Channelization and Illumination plan prepared by
TENW refer to Dwg. No. 3-58.”
The island has been revised to reference the design by TENW.
9. Sheet FR-03 – “Approved by King County Metro? Install bus stop and shelter on
east side of the street. There is an existing bus shelter on the east side of the
road.”
The bus service at this location is Pierce Transit and the proposed relocated bus
stop and shelter were coordinated with Pierce Transit in August 2017 to be
relocated to the north, across the street, with a new crosswalk location as shown
per the approved Process III site plan (approved February 4, 2019).
10. Sheet FR-04 – “Install new crosswalk markings including detectable warning
surface at the splitter islands to meet current ADA at all approaches.”
A note has been added to address this comment.
11. Sheet FR-05 – “New location? Bus shelter per detail on Sheet FR-03?”
There is an existing bus shelter at this same location that is being relocated to the
back of the added 8 feet wide sidewalk. A detail for this bus shelter has been
added to this sheet.
12. Sheet FR-05 – “Install new crosswalk markings including detectable warning
surface to meet current ADA.”
A note has been added to address this comment.
