MINUTES
I.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Councilmember Ron Gintz opened the special meeting at 4: 10 p.m., in Council Chambers, City Hall,
Federal Way, Washington.
City Council present: Mayor Mahlon "Skip" Priest, Deputy Mayor Hope Elder; Councilmembers
Michael Park, Mary Gates, Jack Dovey and Ron Gintz.
Councilmember Phil Watkins was not present.
Current Arts Commission Chair Joann Piquette was also present.
City Staff present: City Clerk Chris Green. Excused were City Manager Ken Nyberg and City
Attorney Londi Lindell.
II.
ARTS COMMISSION INTERVIEWS
Council conducted interviews with the following: Lorene Fortini, Jeanne Burbidge, Donna Welch,
Frank Zaratkiewicz, Rhonda Wilton, Barbara Œtican, Delicia Hestle-Lunsford, Elizabeth Cordi-
Bejarano, Bette Simpson and Pia Seeger.
The following applicants were unable to appear and requested their applications serve in lieu of their
personal appearances: Nancy Cole, Marta Justice-Foldi and Della Yeager.
III.
DELIBERATIONS
After discussion of Council, a consensus was reached to make a motion at this evening's regular
meeting to appoint the following persons to three-year terms: Jeanne Burbidge, Bette Simpson and
Donna Welch. Marta Justice Foldi and Rhonda Wilton were selected to serve one-year unexpired
terms. Selected to serve three-year alternate terms were Nancy Cole and Pia Seeger.
IV.
ADJOURNMENT
Having no other business, the special meeting w)umed at 6:00 p.m.
