CALL MEETING TO ORDER
In the absence of Mayor Ron Gintz, Deputy Mayor Michael Park, serving as Presiding Officer,
opened the special/study session of the Federal Way City Council at the hour of 5:30 p.m., in
Council Chambers, City Hall, Federal Way, Washington.
Councilmembers present: Deputy Mayor Michael Park, Councilmembers Jeanne Burbidge, Jack
Dovey, Mary Gates, Linda Kochmar and Phil Watkins. Absent: Mayor Ron Gintz.
City staff present: City Manager Kenneth E. Nyberg, Deputy City Manager Philip Keightley, City
Attorney Londi Lindell, Public Safety Director Ron Wood, Management Services Director lwen
Wang, Public Works Director Cary Roe, Parks/Recreation Director Jennifer Schroder, Community
Development Director Greg Moore and City Clerk Chris Green.

1999-2000 PROPOSED BIENNIAL BUDGET
Department Presentation
City Manager Nyberg introduced Chief Ron Wood, the presenter for the evening. Following a
review of the proposed Public Safety Department budget, Chief Wood responded to a variety of
Councilmember questions. City Manager Nyberg then concluded with a few words.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before Council, Deputy Mayor Park adjourned the
special/study session of the Federal Way City Council at the hour of 7:00 p.m.
