CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Gintz called the special/study session to order at 6:04 PM.
Council Present: Mayor Ron Gintz, Deputy Mayor Michael Park, Council members Jeanne
Burbidge, Jack Dovey, Mary Gates, Linda Kochmar and Phil Watkins.
Staff Present: City Manager Kenneth Nyberg, Deputy City Manager Philip Keightley, City
Attorney Londi Lindell, Finance Director Iwen Wang and Deputy City Clerk Laura Ulanowski

1999-2000 BIENNIAL BUDGET
- Council Deliberation of Expenditures/Revenues
City Manager Ken Nyberg addressed alternatives to achieving a balanced budget, assessing the
Council list of priorities. Mr. Nyberg offered three recommendations to Council which would
achieve Council's goals:

Increase the Gambling Tax
Implement the 1 % Hotel/Motel Tax
Reduce the City Managers Contingency Fund by $100,000.
Councilmember Dovey moved to adopt the City Manager's recommendations for funding the
Council initiatives that received the majority vote of the Council. Councilmember Gates
second. The motion carried as follows:

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Council, Mayor Gintz adjourned the special/study
