Council MINS 04-14-1998 Special FEDERAL WAY CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING Council Chambers - City Hall April 14, 1998 - 7:30 p.m MINUTES I. CALL MEETING TO ORDER Councilmember Mary Gates opened the special meeting at 7:35 p.m., in Council Chambers, City Hall, Federal Way, Washington. Present were Deputy Mayor Michael Park; Councilmembers Mary Gates, Jack Dovey, Jeanne Burbidge and Linda Kochmar. Mayor Ron Gintz and Councilmember Phil Watkins were not present. Current Arts Commission Chair Joann Piquette was also present. City Staff present: City Clerk Chris Green. Excused were City Manager Ken Nyberg and City Attorney Londi Lindell. II. ARTS COMMISSION INTERVIEWS Council conducted interviews with the following: Krista White, Bonnie Graves, Jaqueline Peterson, Lawrence Cater, Allan Smith and Joseph Zaratkiewicz. Councilmember Kochmar recused herself from the interview of Mr. Zaratkiewicz. Peggy LaPorte and Carol Fueston requested their applications be submitted in lieu of their personal appearances. Rita Barnett did not show for her interview. III. DELIBERATIONS After discussion of Council, a consensus was reached to re-appoint Peggy LaPorte. Councilmembers present also agreed to appoint Krista White, Lawrence (Larry) Cater and Allan Smith as commission members. Selected to serve as first alternate was Bonnie Graves; second alternate Jacqueline Peterson. IV. ADJOURNMENT Having no other business, the special meeting was adjourned at 9: 10 p.m. ') 7 fca~~ I N.
