CALL MEETING TO ORDER Mayor Gintz called the special session of the Federal Way City Council to order at 6:02 p.m., in Council Chambers, City Hall. Councilmembers present: Mayor Ron Gintz, Deputy Mayor Michael Park, and Councilmembers Jean Burbidge, Jack Dovey, Mary Gates, Linda Kochmar, Phil Watkins. Staff present: City Manager Kenneth Nyberg, Deputy City Manager Philip Keightley, City Attorney Landi Lindell, Assistant to City Manager Derek Matheson and City Clerk Chris Green. II. ADULT ENTERTAINMENT, ACTIVITY, RETAIL OR USE Mayor Gintz announced the Council is going into an executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(l)(i), with no action anticipated. III. EXECUTIVE SESSION Potential Liti¡¡ationlPursuant to RCW 42.30.110 (l)(i) The Council returned to chambers at 6:45 p.m., at which time Mayor Gintz announced there is no action necessitated following the first executive session. He then announced a slight departure in this evening's meeting agenda to consider the following regular meeting executive session item at this time: Real Estate/Pursuant to RCW 42.30. 110(l)(c) The Council returned to chambers at the hour of 7:05 p.m., and Mayor Gintz announced there is action to be taken following the second executive session. ORf GINAL Federal Way City Council Special Session August 3, 1999 - Page 2 MOTION BY COUNCILMEMBER DOVEY TO DIRECT AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH INTER CO-OP USA NO. m FOR THE MUNICIPAL COURT FACILITY TO BE WCATED AT 34004 NINTH AVENUE CENTER BUILDING, SUITE A-2, FOR AN INITIAL TERM OF APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS TERMINATING ON DECEMBER 15, 2001, WITH TWO ONE-YEAR EXTENSIONS, IN FORM AND CONTENT ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY; SECOND BY COUNCILMEMBER WATKINS. The motion passed as follows: Burbidge Gates Kochmar Watkins yes yes yes yes Dovey Gintz Park yes yes yes MOTION BY COUNCILMEMBER DOVEY TO FURTHER DIRECT AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A FIRST AMENDMENT TO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH INTER CO-OP USA NO. m FOR THE CURRENT POLICE FACILITY LOCATED AT 34008 NINTH A VENUE CENTER, WHICH UPON TERMINATION OF THE INITIAL LEASE TERM ON 12/15/2001, WOULD PROVIDE FOR TWO ONE- YEAR EXTENSION OPTIONS, IN FORM AND CONTENT ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY; SECOND BY COUNCILMEMBER WATKINS.
