CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Park called the special meeting of the Federal Way City Council to order at the hour of
5:40 p.m.
Councilmembers present: Mayor Mike Park, Deputy Mayor Linda Kochmar, and Councilmembers
Jeanne Burbidge, Mary Gates, Michael Hellickson, Dean McColgan, and Phil Watkins.
City staff present: City Manager David Moseley, Interim City Attorney Bob Sterbank, Assistant to
City Manager Derek Matheson, Management Services Director Iwen Wang, Parks Director Jenny
Schroder, Interim Community Development Director Kathy McClung, Public Works Director
Cary Roe, Interim Public Safety Director Tom Chaney, Deputy Management Services Director
Marie Mosley, Municipal Court Judge David Tracy, Court Administrator Sandy Warter, and City
Clerk Chris Green.

2001/2002 BIENNIUM BUDGET
Overview/City Council Deliberation
City Manager Moseley provided an overview of the earlier proposed budget presentations by
department directors, responding to Councilmember questions. Discussions included funding for
special revenue, debt service, capital projects, enterprise and internal services. Staff was directed
to prepare the 2001-2002 biennial budget ordinance in accordance with Council directives
following the special budget sessions.
