AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO.
90-42 TO RESTRICT PARKING ON PORTIONS OF BOTH
SIDES OF 6TH AVENUE S.W. AND 7TH WAY S.W.; AND
AMENDING SECTION 4(B) (2) OF ORDINANCE NO. 90-29
TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON A PORTION OF S.W.
CAMPUS DRIVE FROM 35 MILES PER HOUR TO 25 MILES
PER HOUR.
WHEREAS,
the Goodwill Games are anticipated to create
substantial additional traffic in connection with the events to
be conducted within the City limits of the city of Federal Way
and that such traffic for persons coming to the city to see the
competitive
events
will
result
in
the
need
to
temporarily
restrict
speed
limits
and
on-street
parking,
necessitating
regulations
for
the
duration
of
the
Goodwill
Games,
NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
section
1.
Section 4(B) (2)
of Ordinance No.
90-29
establishing a speed limit of 35 miles per hour on both sides of
S.W. Campus Drive, between 1st Avenue S. and 21st S.W. is hereby
repealed and the new speed limit on said roadway shall be 25
miles per hour.
Section
2.
A new section l(H)
is hereby added to
Ordinance No. 90-42 restricting parking on portions of 6th Avenue
S.W. and 7th Way S.W. for the duration of the Goodwill Games to

On both sides of 6th Avenue S. W. from S.
W. 346th Place to S.W. Campus Drive and on
both sides of 7th Way S. W. from 7th Place
S.W. to S.W. Campus Drive.

3.
This
ordinance
and the
restrictions
on
speed limits and on-street parking shall be effective as of July
15, 1990, which is more than five (5) days after publication of
the approved summary consisting of the title to this ordinance.
