ORDINANCE NO. 90-46
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY,
WASHINGTON, ADOPTING CERTAIN TRAFFIC
INFRACTIONS ESTABLISHED BY STATE STATUTES BY
REFERENCE; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND
DECLARING A PUBLIC EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Federal Way City Council finds that this
ordinance is in the interests of the public health, safety and
welfare, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Traffic Infractions Adopted bv
Reference. The following statutes of the State of Washington,
including all future amendments thereto, are hereby adopted by
reference:
1. RCW 46.61.025 - Persons riding animals

�ection 2. Expired vehicle reqistration. Unless
otherwise provided in RCW 46.16.010(3), failure to renew an
expired vehicle registration before operation on the highways of
this State is a traffic infraction.
Section 3. Unless otherwise posted or provided by
ordinance, the speed limit on all City streets shall be 25 mph.
Section 4. No person shall park a commercial vehicle
which is more than 80 inches wide overall on any street or alley
in residential areas zoned SE, RS and RM between the hours of
midnight and 6:00 a.m.
Section 5. Unless another penalty is expressly
provided by law, any person found to have committed an act which
violates the provisions of this ordinance, shall be guilty of a
traffic infraction and shall be punished by a penalty of not more
than two hundred fifty dollars.
Section 6. If any section, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity
or constitutionality of any other section, senttnce, clause or

Section 7. The City Council hereby declares that
there is a public emergency necessitating that this ordinance go
into effect immediately upon its passage in order to preserve the
public health, safety and public peace.

of the City Council of the City of Federal Way this 20th day
