ORDINANCE NO. 92-154

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY�
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 90-33�
AMENDING THE 1991 EDITION3 OF THE UNIFORM
MECHANICAL CODE, THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE,
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Federal Way is required to adopt the
Uniform Codes specified in the Washington State Building Code Act
as amended by the State Building Code Council pursuant to RCW
19.27.031; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is necessary to
protect the public health, safety and welfare by adopting the 1991
updated editions of the Uniform Mechanical Code and Uniform
Plumbing Code; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is necessary to
charge fees in an adequate amount to cover its costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL
WAY, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 90-33, Section 38 is amended as
to read:
Section 38. There is hereby created a new section
15.10.120 Cost of �ermit of the City of Federal Way Municipal Code
to read as follows:
15.10.120 Cost of permit. Every applicant for a permit to
do work regulated by this Code shall indicate in writing,
on the application form provided for that purpose, the
character or work proposed to be done and the number and
kind of fixtures proposed, together with as much pertinent
information as may be required.

Prior to issuance, the applicant shall pay for each permit
a fee in accordance with the fee schedule set out in
Federal Way Fee Resolution No. , as now exists or is
hereafter amended, deleted, added to or modified.

Section 3. Severabilitv. If any section, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or
constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be
effective thirty (30) days after passage by the City Council and
publication of an approved summary consisting of the title hereto.
