Ord 01-394 ORDINANCE NO. 01-394 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE FEDERAL WAY CITY CODE CHAPTER FOUR (Amending Ordinance No. 90-30). WHEREAS, the Federal Way City Council adopted Chapter Four ofthe Federal Way City Code in 1990 to secure and maintain such levels of animal control as will protect human health and safety, and to the greatest degree practicable, prevent injury to property and cruelty to animal life.; and WHEREAS, the State Legislature has defined cruelty to animals and established the punishment; and WHEREAS, the City Council of Federal Way finds that it is in the best interest of the public to incorporate state law and update the Federal Way City Code; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, W ASHlNGTON, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section I. Article IV, that the Federal Way City Code is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered, Section 4-125, which section reads as follows: General Provisions The following state statutes, including all future amendments, additions or deletions, are adopted by reference: (1) (2) 16.08.020 16.08.030 ORD# 01-394 , PAGE 3 Dogs injuring stock may be killed. The provisions of this ordinance are declared separate and severable. The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, section, or portion of this ordinance or the invalidity ofthe application thereofto any person or circumstance, shall not affect the validity of the remainder of the ordinance, or the validity of its application to other persons or circumstances. Section 4. Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority and prior to the effective date of this ordinance is hereby ratified and affirmed. Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days fÌom and after its passage and publication, as provided by law. 2001. .,-...
