A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AND
APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE WASHINGTON PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
THE
CITY
COUNCIL
OF
THE
CITY
OF
FEDERAL
WAY,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

L
The
City
Council
of
Federal
Way,
Washington, a political subdivision of the State of Washington,
hereby authorizes and approves the participation and membership
of its eligible employees in the Washington Public Employees'
Retirement System pursuant to section 1.3, Chapter 291., Laws of
1961, and RCW 41..40.41.0; and authorizes the expenditure of the
necessary
funds
to
cover
its
proportionate
share
for
such
participation in the System.
Further, it is the intent of the
city Council of the City of Federal Way to defer withholding tax
on retirement contributions in accordance with Substitute Senate
Bill 4477, which became effective September 1, 1984.

2.
Membership
in
the
Washington
Public
Employees Retirement System shall commence as of October 1, 1989.
