A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, AMENDING RESOLUTION
N0. 90-18, ESTABLISHNG FEES FOR APPLICANTS FOR
PERMITS FOR HOME DAY CARE FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution 90-18, has
adopted a schedule of fees for review of permit applications for
businesses in the City as reimbursement for cost of revi.ewing such;
and
WHEREAS, current provisions for permit fees for in-home
day care facilities with twelve or fewer attendees require payment
of $750.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this fee may
discourage home day care owners from applying for permits; and
WHEREAS, the Council determines it is in the interest of
public health, safety and welfare to ensure that the fees do not
discourage such in-home day care businesses from locating in the
City or discourage them from applying for the necessary permits,
thereby potentially creating illegal operations; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVE5 AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Resolution No. 90-18 is amended to provide
a.fee for in-home day care businesses as follows:
In-Home Day Care Facilities - $75.00
12 or fewer attendees (Process I)

F. Refunding Land Use Fees:
The filing fees as set forth in the fee schedule for the
City are established to defray the cost of posting and
processing and the proceedings in conr�ection with a land
use application. The Building and Zoning Director may
authorize the refunding of not more than eighty percent (80$)
of the total application fees paid provided the applicant
presents a written request to withdraw or cancel prior to
the routing of the application for staff review.
