RESOLUTION NO.
91-47
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY,
WASHINGTON, REGARDING VISION 2020.
WHEREAS, in order to preserve and enhance the services
and quality of life of existing and future residents in the ~entral
puget Sound area, we must now plan where infrastructure is needed
and where growth can be best managed; and
WHEREAS, making decisions now about the future growth of
the
region
requires
both
planning
expertise
and
political
commitment; and
WHEREAS, the VISION 2020 plan is a framework for the
future development of the central puget Sound area; and
WHEREAS, VISION 2020 is a framework for the more detailed
local planning that is being done for land-use, transportation and
supporting infrastructure decisions; and
WHEREAS, the planning done with regard to VISION 2020
will
have
little
meaning
without
the
support
of
the
local
governments whose actions will be guided by its content;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

1.
The
City
of
Federal
Way
supports
the
principles of VISION 2020, as adopted at the puget Sound Council of
Government's Annual Assembly of October 25, 1990.

section 2.
The City of Federal Way will work with other
affected jurisdictions to manage growth in a manner consistent with
the principles of the plan.
