Res 91-050 RESOLUTION NO. 91-50 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, RELATING TO METRO RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RAPID TRANSIT AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES. WHEREAS, the Planning Subcommittee of the METRO Transit Committee is reviewing rapid transit alternatives for, among other areas, the South I-5 corridor; and WHEREAS, two alternatives that are being discussed are proposed South I-5 H.O.V. lanes and high capacity rapid transit; and WHEREAS, the current proposal would establish an H.O.V. lane and rapid transit on South I-5 only to South 272nd Street; and WHEREAS, significant traffic congestion exists south of South 272nd Street; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: section 1. The Planning Subcommittee and the METRO Transit Committee are urged to extend the recommended H.O.V. lane and the high capacity rapid transit on South I-5 at least to South 348th Street.
