91-72
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, APPROVING A REPORT
ENTITLED "ISSUES FOR FUTURE COORDINATION
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE FEDERAL WAY WATER AND
SEWER DISTRICT,"
WHEREAS, the city Council of the City of Federal Way,
Washington, has approved the Water System Plan of the Federal Way
Water and Sewer District; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with the adoption of the Water
System Plan,
the
attached report
entitled
"Issues
for
Future
Coordination Between the city and the Federal Way Water and Sewer
District", was presented to the Planning commission¡ and
WHEREAS, the report examined issues and potential policy
responses of common interests to the City and the Water District
relating to:
A,
Water Source and Aquifer Recharge
B,
Water Conservation
C.
Water Quality
D.
Capacity of Water source and Infrastructure
WHEREAS, the report initiated dialogue between the City
and the Water District on these issues; and
WHEREAS,
it is intended that a work program will be
developed jointly by the City and the District to further explore
these issues as part of the future coordination between these two
agencies; and NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

District" is approved.

2.
Approval
of
the
"Issues
for
Future
Coordination Between the City and the Federal Way Water and Sewer
District" will insure that policies relating to water source and
aquifer
recharge,
water
conservation,
water
quality
and
the
capacity of water source and infrastructure, will be studied and
developed
jointly by the
District
and the
City.
Particular
attention
should given to
further developing policy
on water
conservation as a work program priority,
