91-80
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE
KING COUNTY NOVEMBER 5,1991, GENERAL ELECTION
BOND ISSUE FOR 800 MHZ REGIONAL RADIO SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, King County is seeking voter authorization of a
countywide $50,000,000 eight year bond issue to fund a common radio
system for all public fire and police agencies in King County; and
WHEREAS, the bond issue will fund a complete microwave
800 MHz trunked radio system including all necessary mobile and
portable radios for all public fire and police agencies; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of this system will cure the
existing situation in which many fire and police radio systems in
use today cannot communicate with other agencies due to lack of
common radios bands; and
WHEREAS, the City of Federal way's participation in the
800 trunked radio system includes the potential for use of this
radio system for all city two-way radio communications; and
WHEREAS,
the
use
of
the
system will
have
regional
benefits in that all public agencies have the ability to coordínate
radio communications in the event of an emergency; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

supports
the
King
County November
5,
1991,
countywide bond issue to fund a common radio system for all public
fire and police agencies in King County.
