RESOLUTION NO.
92-96
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, EXPRESSING CONCERN
ABOUT RACIAL AND RELIGIOUS BIAS AND BIGOTRY,
AND ENCOURAGING STRENGTHENING OF HUMAN
RELATIONSHIPS.
WHEREAS, the Federal Way City Council is deeply concerned
about
incidents
of
racial
and
religious
intolerance,
and
is
concerned that such incidents in the Federal Way area may continue
and even increase in the future; and
WHEREAS, any attack on the race or religion of anyone of
us is an insult to all of us, violating our most basic American
principle - equality; and
WHEREAS, the Council resists the attempt of some persons
to draw lines between people, separating people by reason of race,
color, creed, or religious beliefs; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
section 1.
Incidents of racial or religious harassment
will not be tolerated,
and citizens are urged to report such
incidents to the local law enforcement authorities.
