Res 93-148 RESOLUTION NO. 93-148 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, RATIFYING ,AMENDMENTS TO THE KING COUNTY COUNTYWIDE PLANNING POLICIES PURSUANT TO A DECISION BY THE CENTRAL PUGET SOUND GROWTH PLANNING HEARING BOARD FROM THE APPEAL OF THE CITY OF SNOQUALMIE, AND CONSISTENT WITH KING COUNTY COUNCIL ORDINANCE 10840, ADOPTED MAY 24,1993, TO DELETE COUNTYWIDE PLANNING POLICY FW-2(c), LU 27 (a) THROUGH (c), AND LU 59. WHEREAS, the city Council of the City of Federal Way, Washington, has previously ratified the King County Countywide Planning Policies; and WHEREAS, the King County Countywide Planning Policies were deemed adopted for purposes of RCW 36.70A.210, upon the ratification of the Policies by ordinance or resolution of at least thirty percent (30%) of the number of city and county governments in King County and such governments represented at least seventy percent (70%) of the population of King County; and WHEREAS, following ratification of the required jurisdictions within King County, the Ci ty of Snoqualmie appealed certain portions of the King County Countywide Planning Policies; and WHEREAS, the appeal was considered by the Central puget Sound Growth Planning Hearings Board who found in favor of the City of Snoqualmie and ordered the amendment of the Countywide Planning Policies by deletion of certain provisions within the Policies; and WHEREAS, the King County Council through Ordinance 10840 adopted the Amendments and ratified them for unincorporated King County on May 24, 1993; and Res.#93-14~ Page#~ COpy WHEREAS, the King County Planning Policies, FW-1, Step 4c, states that amendments to the Policies are subject to ratification by cities; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Federal Way finds such amendments to be in the best interest of the City of Federal Way; NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 Amendment. The King County Countywide Planning Policies, previously adopted by the Federal Way City Council, are hereby amended to delete Policy FW-2 (c), Policy LU 27 (a) through (c), and LU 59; as shown on the attached Exhibit A, incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2 Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority and prior to the effective date of the resolution is hereby ratified and affirmed. Section 3 Effective Date.
