RESOLUTION NO. gh-22;S
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
ACCEPTANCE OF MONIES AND DIRECTING EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT TO ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE KING
COUNTY CULTURAL RESOURCES DIVISION ARTS AND
HERITAGE INITIATIVE AND AUTHORIZING A 50%
MATCH OF ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING
SERVICES BY THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the King County Cultural Resources Division Arts and
Heritage Initiative has special grant funds available to supplement
efforts by the City to design and construct additional restrooms at
the visitation Retreat and Cultural Center; and
WHEREAS, the grant identified herein will net the city of
Federal
Way
a
total
of
Fifty
Thousand
and
no/l00
Dollars
($50,000.00), and will require the City to match approximately six
Thousand Two Hundred Ten and no/l00 Dollars ($6,210.00) for fifty
percent
(50%)
of architectural and engineering services,
thus
resulting in maximum leverage of tax dollars; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
section 1.
Aqreements Authorized.
The City Manager or his or
her designated representative is authorized and directed to execute
an agreement with the King County Cultural Resources Division Arts
and Heritage Initiative,
to accept Fifty Thousand and no/l00
Dollars ($50,000.00) in King County grant monies awarded to the

city of
Federal Way under the King County Arts
and Heritage
Initiative for the purpose of the Visitation Retreat and Cultural
Center Public Restroom Improvement Project.
Section 2.
Matchinq Funds Authorized.
Pursuant to the terms
of the King County Arts and Heritage Initiative grant, the City
commits to approximately six Thousand Two Hundred Ten and no/l00
Dollars ($6,210.00), in matching funds for fifty percent (50%) of
the architectural and engineering services of the project.
section 3.
Receipt of Funds Authorized.
The city Manager or
his or her designee is hereby authorized to receive the County
funds
disbursed
to
the
City
under
the
King
County
Cultural
Resources Division Arts and Heritage Initiative grant.
section 4.
Manaqer Shall Administer Funds.
The City Manager
or his or her designated representative shall have responsibility
for the administration of the County monies received under the King
County Cultural Resources Division Arts and Heritage Initiative
grant.

5.
Ratification.
Any act
consistent with the
authority and prior to the effective date of this resolution is
hereby ratified and affirmed.
section 6.
Severability.
If any section, sentence, clause or
phrase
of
this
resolution
should
be
held
to
be
invalid
or
unconstitutional
by
a
court
of
competent
jurisdiction,
such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or
constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase
of this resolution.

Section
7.
Effective Date.
This
resolution
shall
be
effective immediately upon passage by the Federal Way City Council.
