Res 98-271 RESOLUTION NO. 98-271 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASillNGTON, REVISING THE 1997 FEE SCHEDULE FOR APPLICATIONS AND PERMITS FOR THE CITY (AMENDS RESOLUTION No. 95-222). WHEREAS, in 1997 the City of Federal Way City Council adopted an Image and Downtown Revitalization Program, which includes an incentive program to induce downtown businesses to bring their signs into conformance with the requirements of the Federal Way sign Code prior to the February 28, 2000, deadline set forth in the code; and WHEREAS, the incentive program includes an option to waive sign and building permit fees for downtown business owner applicants seeking to bring their signs into compliance prior to the deadline; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Schedule of Fees and Charges maintained by the Federal Way City Clerk to provide for such waivers; THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIffi CITY OF FEDERAL WAY DOES HEREBY RESOL VB AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. SÜm Permit Exemptions. Sections 7 and 19 of the Schedule of Fees and Charges, adopted in Resolutions 95-222 and 97-239 and maintained by the Federal Way City Clerk, shall be amended as set forth in the attached Exhibits A and B to exempt applications for sign permits filed as part of the Downtown Revitalization Program - Sign Incentive Program. . Section 2 Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this resolution should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
